This is my story

Kotsy has been moving dance floors in the GTA for years.

He started out east of the city, cutting his teeth with residencies at hot nightspots in Belleville. Kotsy got parties grooving at The Shark Tank Pub, Matt & Joe’s Night Club while studying Radio Broadcasting at Loyalist College. He also got crowds warmed up as an opening act for a veritable who’s who of hot Canadian bands including Not By Choice, Treble Charger, Gob, Kazzer, Jersey, Thornley, Hurst, 54-40, Bif Naked, Britt Black, Hinder, The Trews, Rocketface, Default and Oliver Black. Upon graduating College, Kotsy picked up residences at The Hub Night Club and Stages Night Club in Kingston.

After 5 years of playing out in eastern Ontario, Kotsy made his move to the T-Dot and hasn’t looked back, spinning house and techno at Acid Lounge in the legendary Guvernment Complex, as well as Footwork and The Comfort Zone. In October of 2010 he launched his own monthly podcast, Basement Sessions, which was later relaunched as Maximum Drums focusing on tribal and percussive house.

Growing up in Ajax, Kotsy had music in his veins, listening to classics like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Doors. Later on his tastes became more contemporary, with groups like Metallica, Green Day, Stone Temple Pilots and Rage Against The Machine filling up his play list. When he first heard DJ Dwight go live-to-air from The Phoenix on 102.1 The Edge, he knew he belonged in the booth.
